The glorification of chastity inevitably leads to its eroticization.
Cappella Sansevero (also known as Cappella Sansevero de‘ Sangro or Pietella) is a small Baroque church with numerous marble sculptures north of Piazza San Domenico Maggiore, in the center of the historic center of Naples, Italy. Built in 1590 as the burial place of the di Sangro family, it was the private chapel of Raimondo di Sangro (1710-1771), Prince of Sansevero, a noble inventor and alchemist. Special attractions of the church are the Veiled Christ (Cristo velato) by Giuseppe Sanmartino (1720-1793) and The Chastity (Pudicizia) by Antonio Corradini. The mural reproduces The Chastity on a building in the Spanish Quarter.
